Continue with the interchange where it joins the N3 – Follow the Pretoria signs.
00.00km Follow the N3 to Pretoria, turning right at the Buccleuch interchange
13.0km ± 13km north of the Buccleuch interchange, take the Olifantsfontein off-ramp R562 West
17.3km Go straight across the R511
26.0km Turn right onto the R511 Hartebeespoort
29.3km Turn left onto the R511 Hartebeespoort
45.6km Go straight across R104 (Pretoria/Pelindaba)
55.1km Go straight
57.4km Continue straight towards the Hartebeespoort Dam
60.6km Go through the tunnel and across the dam wall, past the market stalls
67.9km Turn right and follow the R512 Sun City
68.5km Turn left and follow N4 Sun City/Rustenburg signs
81.0km Take the Pilansburg off ramp (Sun City)
131.8km Go straight over the R510
156.1km You will now pass the Sun City gate on your right and continue following the directions from Sun City, as below.
. Turn left and after approx 14km, turn right towards Renosterdorings / Lindelyspoort.
Head straight on with this road until eventually you come to a 4 way stop.
Follow the signs to Swartruggens.
Drive straight until you come to a T-juntion and turn right.
Turn left shortly after the T-junction.
After about 2km you will come to another T-juntion and turn left towards Zeerust.
Head straight with this road and turn right at the next T-juntion.
After turning right, you will be on the N4 – take the below directions from Zeerust.
. From the airport, take the R24. Continue with the interchange where it joins the N3 – Follow the Pretoria signs. Keep straight on this highway – DO NOT turn right onto the N1 to Pretoria.
From the N1 South Roodepoort “Concrete Highway” or Western Bypass heading South, take the M8 off-ramp signposted “14th Avenue” and then follow M47/N14 signs.
At Tarlton, where the N14 intersects with the R24 at a 4-way stop, turn right taking the R24 signposted “Rustenburg,” which goes to Magaliesburg.
On the way out of Magaliesburg, fork left and take the R509 signposted “Derby/Koster” and follow the R509 all the way to Swartruggens. (Please note that it is necessary to turn right in Koster: the signpost “R509 Swartruggens” is on the right hand side of the road in the middle of Koster).
At the T-junction just before Swartruggens, turn left onto the N4 signposted “Swartruggens” and then “Zeerust”.
In Zeerust, turn right at the third stop street into President street, following the signpost “R47 Gaborone/Madikwe Game Reserve”. (The First National Bank is on the corner where the signpost is).
Follow the R49 (this used to be the R505 north towards Gaborone for 85km and look out for the Abjaterskop Gate into Madikwe which is on your right hand side. It is clearly signposted.
The above route is tarmac all the way. Allow at least 3 – 4 hours traveling time from Johannesburg to the gate. Follow directions below from Abjaterskop Gate to the lodge.
